Jeep® Announces a Return to Pickups

December 17th, 2018 by

At Landers Dodge Chrysler Jeep® RAM, we pride ourselves on our top-notch customer service and a vast collection of new and used vehicles. One of the new Jeep brand vehicles to soon enter our showroom is an impressive and rugged Jeep brand pickup truck.

At the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show, Jeep made a stunning announcement; they’re making a return to the pickup truck. The last pickup truck they released was the Jeep Comanche, which was discontinued in 1992.The new Jeep pickup, scheduled to hit the market in 2020, is named the Jeep Gladiator, and it is certainly expected to shake up the Jeep family lineup. The Jeep Gladiator utilizes the exterior design of the ever-popular Jeep Wrangler and adds a sizeable 5-foot truck bed to the mix. The Jeep Gladiator is expected to be powered by a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine, which will pump out an impressive 285 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. worth of torque. All that power will prove to be incredibly useful when towing, especially since the Jeep Gladiator will be able to lug a staggering 7,650 pounds. So, come 2020 Jeep drivers looking for more room and power will have more options than the Jeep Grand Cherokee. If they wish, they can opt for the Jeep Gladiator instead.

It’s fair to say that our team at Landers Dodge Chrysler Jeep RAM is excited over the prospect of a Jeep pickup. Unfortunately, it’ll still be sometime before you can visit our Bossier City, LA dealership and test one out. While you wait, we can set you up with a test drive with one of our rugged and versatile Jeep brand vehicles to ease the anticipation.
